Recent advances in genomics, gene editing, and plant breeding technologies, combined with a better understanding of biochemical mechanisms underlying the composition of a soybean seed, provide an opportunity to create soybean meal suited to specific animal diets. This presentation will summarize a typical soybean breeding program, advancements in technologies pertinent to the development of new varieties, and examples of applications.
